It started as a diversion during my trips to Atlanta,
Charlotte and Palm
Springs in 2008.
With 10 to 20 seconds study each, I began sketching
the faces of people who caught my attention at airports, on
airplanes,
and at the Atlanta Zoo, all without the subjects' knowledge.
After filling my sketch book with unfamiliar faces came the
idea of
committing them to canvas. At first, the idea of painting the faces of
people that I do not know seemed crazy. Now, 17 faces appear
on canvas!
